Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast generally cloudy weather across Nepal due to the influence of monsoon winds and a low-pressure monsoon line. Light to moderate rainfall is currently occurring in several locations within Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, with sporadic showers in other regions.
This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is anticipated in a few areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. As night falls, the cloudiness will persist throughout the country, with similar light to moderate rain and thunderstorms likely in Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Notably, heavy rainfall is expected in one or two places within Karnali province.
Looking ahead to the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is predicted for several locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Given the forecast of heavy rain in parts of Karnali province, the Department has issued a warning to the public to take precautions against potential monsoon-induced disasters, including floods and landslides.
